Talk to me! Tell me what you want.

It’s not often we have the luxury of being asked – what do you want?

And while I imagine in many situations, that’s a loaded question for a list of unrealistic demands, in the world of RecipeTin Eats, it is somewhat more viable for me to deliver!

The list of recipe and food related ideas I have is long and never ending. New ideas get added every day, things get scratched off as I try and dismiss them. Only the very best, the ones I deem “blog worthy” (yep, that’s a technical term 😂) make it on my website.

The problem is, the number of blog-worthy dishes is very, very long. And there is only so much ground that one girl and her dog can cover.

Thus, I turn to you to ask –

Tell me what you want for 2021!

Or, what do you not want? You can ask for anything! Here are some ideas:

  • More greens, less meat

  • More fish!

  • Work lunch ideas

  • More Dozer (🤞🏼!)

  • Dietary specific recipes – low cal / low carb

  • Freezer friendly recipes

  • Complete menus – where I share starter/main/sides/dessert like this Arabian Nights Feast I did many years ago (and still rather popular to this day!)

  • Slow cooker recipes – the “set and forget” sort

I obviously cannot promise to give you absolutely everything you ask for. But I can promise that I will read every response, and what you say will shape the direction of RecipeTin Eats in 2021.

So, talk to me!! – Nagi x

PS Still taking dish specific requests on this page! This is a perpetual list that I use for inspiration, and sometimes I can provide links to recipes from other sources (if I’ve tried them) so you don’t have to wait for me!

PPS Just one thing I can’t deliver on –

🚫🍌 NO BANANA. The only “normal” food I can’t stand, a childhood hangover from all those years my mother would jam a banana in my lunchbox and there it would sit, festering in the Aussie summer heat (pre cooler-bag days) and the banana smell with infuse into everything in the lunchbox. Ever had a banana infused ham sandwich? Not good, my friends. Not good. 🤢

I find it thoroughly amusing that my mother is the master of bento box lunches but failed to even consider the most basic fundamentals of putting together a sandwich lunchbox.

And thus, I am scarred for life. No bananas!😇 (Blame mum)

Life of Dozer

Launching into 2021, Dozer style:

Dozer jumping into pool

And PS, wow, what a response to the Interview With Dozer!! Trust Dozer to close out 2020 with the single most commented on post of the year. Stealing my thunder – and I totally love it. 🥰

I’m a pretty good cook. But….. I can’t cook FISH!!!! I either over cook it or under cook it. Could you give instructions on how to cook fish? That would be so great. I’ve made quite a few of your recipes and all were wonderful. Hello to Dozer!!

I would definitely like to see more of Dozer. He makes me happy. I am in the states and can use all the happiness I can get right now. As far as recipes would love to see more Thai food. Thank you for all your wonderful recipes and for sharing Dozer. Also if you have any recipes for Dozer. I have three dogs of my own and they always enjoy a good homemade treat.

I am Chinese raised in Hong Kong and Macau, I would love to see more of those Macanese dishes I ate growing
up, mincee meat, steamed pork patty, baked cod, , caldo verde, portugese chicken, dan tats, dim sum etc. On that note I would love a Chinese New Years Celebration meal to prepare with and for my family. Also in your bread and baking recipes would love to see weights as weighing in grams is more accurate for baking especially breads. Love your recipes so much, hope you enjoyed the break

I love your recipes – the ingredients are my type with the exception of cilantro. I am lactose intolerant so any mains that are stove top would be great

    Hi Nagi,

Love you, your recipes, your photos, and Dozer!

    1. Your site is great, but as someone who always leaves their tech in another room, I want a (printed) book!

Otherwise, I’m happy with the surprise topics and recipes.

    Cheers,
    Liana

Hi Nagi – first of all, thank you for also you do. Your recipes are extremely reliable, and your detailed explanations and deep dives into the recipes and what makes them work are so appreciated. So please keep it up!

For specific things, I would like to echo the requests others have made for more plant-forward recipes (whether vegetarian, vegan, or with minimal meat). Your recipes are always so flavour packed and I’d love to see what you come up with! Especially for packing more flavour into tofu…

Second, I have really appreciated your recent baking recipes. Your ermine frosting helped me to finally nail something that I’d been looking to perfect for months!!! So please keep going with these well thought out baking essentials posts, they’re SO amazing.

And last thought – perhaps more sauces and similar meal components? It’s a personal resolution to get better with sauces and accompaniments, and having pre-made components to keep in the fridge to throw together a quick meal after a long work day can be a lifesaver.

Again, thank you for all you do – whatever you choose to pursue in 2021 is going to be fabulous!

Less “sticky, sweet” drippy entrees. More clean eating the Nagi way. Good marinades, gravies, savory stuff without the sugar. More creative veggies.
Hate to say it but your feelings about bananas is my feeling for dogs. As a kid I was attacked by what was to me a huge aggressive dog (I was little so I don’t know how big the dog really was.) And they bark all the time. Dislike dogs ever since.

Love (almost) everything so far. My wishlist would be something like:

    Streetfood sandwiches
    Freezer friendly recipes
Standalone (Asian) sauces that go with many types of meat

And happy new year to you too!

I’d love to see more recipes for ethnic food. Your indian eggplant, dal, thai green curry, tom yum, chicken shawarma recipes are some of my favs. You incorporate new & familiar ingredients effortlessly and your notes at the bottom are the most comprehensive I’ve ever seen on any cooking site. Thank you for all the work you put in 🙂

Hi Nagi, I absolutely love your recipes! My whole family do! I relate to your banana story. My Mum used to give me sandwiches with blue Stilton cheese when I was at school. As soon as I opened my lunchbox and got a whiff, I would pour the entire contents in the bin. Sorry Mum, I now appreciate your efforts to provide me with lunch each day. As a full time working Mum, I really struggle to make lunchboxes exciting for my kids and for my husband and I. Would love to see what school and work lunch ideas you have. Also, need some help with efficient preparation for mid week meals. My kids are approaching the teen years and are already eating like adults! There are no longer leftovers and I need to come up with a meal every night but am often so tired after work. To stay eating healthy I think I have to make meals in advance on the weekend and freeze them up. Would appreciate your ideas on this. Simple slow cooker meals that are tasty would also be great!! Simplicity is key for me as I am so time poor. Thank you

    Hi Navi,
Thanks so much for creating wonderful food content. Love the quality of your blog, videos and photos. I really love to read your blog and get even more excited when I get near the bottom where Dozer kind of steals your thunder. I look forward to seeing what this cute guy is up to. I’m a dog lover so maybe some dog food/treat recipes, I’d also like to see 5 ingredients or less recipes, instant pot recipes, air fryer and some more recipes inspired by countries. Sometimes I like to say to the family tonight we are in India (think paneer), Vietnam (cold rice noodle bowls) or Italy (pesto pasta). Anyhow, love your blog and all the best in 2021
