Talk to me! Tell me what you want.

It’s not often we have the luxury of being asked – what do you want?

And while I imagine in many situations, that’s a loaded question for a list of unrealistic demands, in the world of RecipeTin Eats, it is somewhat more viable for me to deliver!

The list of recipe and food related ideas I have is long and never ending. New ideas get added every day, things get scratched off as I try and dismiss them. Only the very best, the ones I deem “blog worthy” (yep, that’s a technical term 😂) make it on my website.

The problem is, the number of blog-worthy dishes is very, very long. And there is only so much ground that one girl and her dog can cover.

Thus, I turn to you to ask –

Tell me what you want for 2021!

Or, what do you not want? You can ask for anything! Here are some ideas:

  • More greens, less meat

  • More fish!

  • Work lunch ideas

  • More Dozer (🤞🏼!)

  • Dietary specific recipes – low cal / low carb

  • Freezer friendly recipes

  • Complete menus – where I share starter/main/sides/dessert like this Arabian Nights Feast I did many years ago (and still rather popular to this day!)

  • Slow cooker recipes – the “set and forget” sort

I obviously cannot promise to give you absolutely everything you ask for. But I can promise that I will read every response, and what you say will shape the direction of RecipeTin Eats in 2021.

So, talk to me!! – Nagi x

PS Still taking dish specific requests on this page! This is a perpetual list that I use for inspiration, and sometimes I can provide links to recipes from other sources (if I’ve tried them) so you don’t have to wait for me!

PPS Just one thing I can’t deliver on –

🚫🍌 NO BANANA. The only “normal” food I can’t stand, a childhood hangover from all those years my mother would jam a banana in my lunchbox and there it would sit, festering in the Aussie summer heat (pre cooler-bag days) and the banana smell with infuse into everything in the lunchbox. Ever had a banana infused ham sandwich? Not good, my friends. Not good. 🤢

I find it thoroughly amusing that my mother is the master of bento box lunches but failed to even consider the most basic fundamentals of putting together a sandwich lunchbox.

And thus, I am scarred for life. No bananas!😇 (Blame mum)

And PS, wow, what a response to the Interview With Dozer!! Trust Dozer to close out 2020 with the single most commented on post of the year. Stealing my thunder – and I totally love it. 🥰

Hi Nagi. I haven’t tried one of your recipes that our household doesn’t love!!
What I’d like (and probably need) is some more healthy (lower calorie) recipes.
    Thank you.

Oh Joy! Another banana hater! I absolutely hate them, can`t stand that pervasive smell or the texture in the mouth. All due to a convent boarding school education . For some reasons bananas were always on the menu, woe betide anyone who didn’t eat all that was put in front of them. On occasions, friends have peppered a fruit salad of sorts with chopped banana. Once in the mouth, oh Lord, how to deal with it politely. I love all your recipes and all the work you put in so that we may pick and choose at our leisure. I’m just happy for you to just continue as you are. I`ll eat anything you offer, well , apart from the disgusting banana. Thanks so much for all your wonderful recipes, and in particular, all those great tips!

Hi Nagi, I thing I don’t think you have is seafood pancakes or crepes with a cheese sauce (not too heavy!). Saw Rick Stein doing this last night in his new Cornwall series and thought this would be a nice idea for the site. So we’re talking prawns scallops, etc.

May I please request meals where you hide vegetables into delicious meals? I have a 10 year old… I already make mashed potatoes with 50% cauliflower and 50% potatoes, and I am very interested in any other ideas (especially for green veg). Thank you so much!

Hi! Love your recipes, how you break it down, explain things and lay out the ingredients. Also the recipe notes are really helpful.
I’d like more vegetarian recipes (all kinds but some main dishes, not only sides and salads.)
How to make vegetarian versions of recipes including fish/oyster sauce, shrimp paste and similar. IF it even is possible to omit/substitute.
    Thanks!

Hi Nagi. Happy new year to you and Dozer! Thanks for the great work you do.
This is probably too specialised, so please don’t feel you need to respond to this. I am a carer for my elderly mother. She eats almost nothing. I would love some suggestions which might tempt her to eat. Little nibbles which are protein rich.
Don’t bother about this is it doesn’t suit what others want.
Best wishes to you and Dozer, from me and Barbie (13 yr old Dachshund) and Mac (4 yr. old Cairn Terrier).

Magi, thanks for your wonderful emails. I really enjoy and find so useful.
Could you do a segment on using the idle gadgets we have in the kitchen – eg air fryers, pie makers

Hi Nagi! I love your recipes and they have yet to fail me. I also appreciate that they’re easy to follow and simple enough that a relatively inexperienced cook like myself can still do them well!

I would love to see more recipes that can be made and then frozen! Relatedly, I’d love to see some recipes that serve one (or only a few servings). I’m usually just cooking for one, and recipes that don’t have to be scaled down can be hard to find.

Thank you for all the work and love you put into these recipes!

    Hi Nagi.
I would love more recipes with minced chicken. I gave up eating pork beef and lamb a year ago so I still miss the old reliables like lasagna and moussaka, enchiladas etc. It is so difficult to get that comforting taste from chicken or ground turkey but chicken is slightly better than turkey which is so dry.
I love your recipes and cook the meat based ones for family and friends. Your chicken with sundried tomatoes is a regular on my table.
Slow cooker chicken recipes would be great too.

Love to you and Dozer. Stay safe.

    Best wishes
    Olive. X

Hi Nagi, I rave about your recipes to anyone who will listen and even those who won’t! 🙂 I would love to see a 1. basic focaccia recipe, 2. some traditional pudding recipes (Sticky toffee, etc), and 3. some more vegetable recipes, in particular stir fries. (wilted greens, spinach, etc). Also, maybe a pasta recipe from scratch? Well … you asked! Thank you so much for doing what you do and sharing it with all of us. Sending big hugs! Maria.

I love everything I’ve ever made from your recipe selection. I made the Xmas salmon last night to rave reviews. Making it again tomorrow night for a friends’ 50th. I would love you to put together some menu suggestions – starters, main and desert. There’s so many delicious recipes to choose from and it get hard to narrow them down for one menu. Thanks for all you do for us.
