Request a recipe!

I spend an inordinate amount of time deciding which recipes to share.

My biggest problem is that there are so many recipes I want to share, things that get me doing the jiggy because it’s so good but then before I dash off to film and photograph the recipe, I pause and think – will my readers get excited about this too?? Will they really go and try this?

It’s always interesting when I publish a new recipe to see how many people read it. After 4 years of blogging (that’s middle aged in Internet terms!), you’d think I’d be able to get it right 100% of the time.

And mostly, I can.

I knew you’d love the Sticky Honey Mustard Drumsticks and go bonkers over the Pad Thai and Tikka Masala. I didn’t expect you’d be clamouring for the Quiche Lorraine or Avocado Dip, and I guessed right. 🙂

But other times, you surprise me! I did not expect such an amazing response to the Homemade Pastrami from last Friday, nor that the Garlic Butter Kale Rice would become such a firm favourite!

Recent Reader Favourite Recipes - Tikka Masala, Pastrami, Pad Thai

And after all those hours of contemplating what recipes I think you want, it finally dawned on me: Why don’t I ask you??

DUH!

And so, here we are. Finally – because it took me so ridiculously to arrive at this point – FINALLY I’m asking you:

WHAT RECIPES DO YOU WANT ME TO SHARE?

Drop your requests in the comments section below!

Be as specific or as general as you want. I just ask 2 simple things:

  1. Please do a quick little Search to see if I’ve already shared it!

  2. No banana anything! It’s the only normal thing I can’t stand. Awful, smelly, slimy things that they are!?

{UPDATE: Scroll to the top for a list of requested recipes that I have published!}

I obviously can’t promise that I’ll share every recipe requested, being that I’m just one person who does need to sleep on occasion! But I’ll certainly share the most requested ones, and I’ll regularly pop back here when I’m planning my recipe calendar.

Hi Nagi and Dozer, I would love to know what else you can make with lamb stew meat, besides lamb stew! Lamb is such a big part of the Australian diet, not so much the Canadian. Every recipe I see is stew, but surely there must be something else that can be made with it. I would like more recipes for pressure cooker meals.

    Hi Nagi,
I enjoyed a delicious dinner at a restaurant
a few years ago which was scallops on
creamy corn purée topped with crispy prosciutto and served with poached pears and a green
salad. I have tried several ways but just can’t get the corn purée right. Please help me!!

Hi. This is Yumiko, Nagi’s mother here. I have a Japanese home cooking blog site, RecipeTin Japan and I guess Japanese recipes are in my territory. When you visit my site, you will find that there aren’t many sweets posted and I know I have to post a bit more in future. I will make a note of your request.

    Hi Nagi,
Can you please post a recipe for salted fish fried rice. It’s on the menu of most Chinese restaurants here in Toronto but I haven’t found a good recipe online.
    Thanks!

Hi Nagi. The whole family is a very big fan of yours. Thanks for asking. I am after a good recipe for the new trend of open bao. We ate these at Wonderbao & the bao was heavenly soft. They are versatile as we can use almost anything as filling. Thanks. Looking forward to the recipe sooooon. Thanks again

Hi Nagi, love your recipes, especially your meat ones! They are fail safe and so flavourful 🙂 Hoping you can do a recipe for a slow cook Morroccan lamb/beef tagine recipe. I cant seem to get the spices and quantities right in my experimenting. Many thanks!

Finding your blog revamped my dinners, thank you so much! It is rare to find such good recipes with everyday ingredients, I always appreciate the recipe notes to explain things further. I love that most of the recipes you post are savoury as well and that you can tell your passion for both cooking AND eating your creations (no need to be modest!) The few recipes I would love to see you’re take on:
    – cabbage rolls
    – eggplant parmigiana
    – biryani

I second the cabbage roll request! Or even “cabbage roll soup” – it’s easier than rolling the cabbage but I have yet to get the sauce/meat/cabbage balance right.

Hi Nagi, Thanks for asking; I have been trying to find a really good panna cotta recipe. The ones I’ve made (including some with coconut milk, yoghurt and regular cream) are quite gelatinous. I’ve had really lovely, soft creamy ones at restaurants but can’t replicate them. Also, when I was at school (in the 80’s) I made a Turkish Walnut Cake in home economics and it was so good I’ve never forgotten it. It was from an Australian Women’s Weekly magazine from memory. I lost the recipe and have tried finding it over the yea to no avail. That’s a big ask I know but since you’re asking…😉 Or maybe one of your readers kept the recipe? Good to see Dozer out and about after surgery.

Hi Mari, thank you so much for replying. I can’t remember anything but the name and that it was wonderful and moist (I can’t stand dry cake). It possibly had dates in it. I cooked it in my teens and now I’m in my 50’s so it was a long time ago. 😆 I’m not a big cake eater which is why I remember good ones. It’s probably like looking for a needle in a hay stack but if you do find it I’d be over the moon.

On another note, Nagi, I’m amazed how many replies you’ve had here. I had to trawl back through them all to reply to Mari! 😲

Would love a recipe for Gypsy tart, I remember it from my school dinners in the 50s in the UK.
I have tried to make it but the results weren’t good. Flat as a pancake not light and fluffy as I remembered it.

Hi. This is Yumiko, Nagi’s mother here. For tempura prawns, I posted Tempura recipe including a video in my blog site, RecipeTin Japan if you would like to have a look. I don’t have a beef teriyaki recipe with a large pice of beef steak cooked in Japanese style. But I have a recipe called Diced Beef Steak with Japanese Style Sauces which might be what you are after.

Hi. This is Yumiko, Nagi’s mother here. I have a blog RecipeTin Japan where I post Japanese home cooking recipes. I posted Easy Ramen recipe that uses a store-bought condensed soup sachet including tonkotsu soup flavour. But I have not yet posted tonkotsu ramen broth to make from scratch. I tried it once before but it took way too long so, I need to work on it a bit more.
