SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.

Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

RecipeTin Eats Cookbook Announcement

PS That’s just a mock cover!!

Finally – a cookbook!

This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.

Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.

Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….

I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!

Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

RecipeTin Eats Cookbook Announcement

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.

So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂

If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.

I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.

So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).

They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!

Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!

– Nagi x

PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer

I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Dozer sniffing RecipeTin Eats cookbook mock up

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

I’ve never made a recipe of yours that failed or was not awesome! I always come to your site knowing I can randomly try something new or an old favourite and it will work. Your notes are thorough and your methods and wording make sense.

I think you should throw in recipes from your mums Recipe Tin Eats Japan 🇯🇵 because your mum has amazing recipes and it would be a cool collaboration

Great to hear. Looking forward to your new recipe book! Would love to see some air fryer recipes and some vegetarian also (for my daughter). Photos of Dozer would be great too. Good luck. 😊

Hi Nagi, congrats on the upcoming cookbook, I think it’d be helpful to know what meals can be frozen such as I make your fantastic Gozleme recipe and make double meat filling and freeze in individual portions to use later. Makes it feel really easy to make next time as the fresh pastry is simple to make and the filling is ready, thanks Lisa

    Hi Nagi
I can’t wait I’d like to place my order now!
I would like to see some family share recipes because when we all come out of lockdown I’ll be getting to see all my children and grandkids and I can’t wait to cook for them PS I know your book is going to be great good luck

I’d love to see more vegetarian options that aren’t pasta or risotto! I’m not a vegetarian but try to have a few “meat free” dinners each week and there is only so much pasta I can eat (and still fit in my jeans!). Also – love all the “one tray bake” recipes! Dinner tonight is the baked Mediterranean chicken with a side of lemon rice 🤤

As someone who regularly has to adapt recipes for food intolerances, it would be great for recipes to have some substitutions for some known allergens (e.g, Cobram Estate Garlic Infused Olive Oil orFODMAP Garlic Granules for Garlic). FODMAP Everyday is a great source for this.

    https://www.fodmapeveryday.com/category/tips-techniques/

And your substitutions for hard to get ingredients is fantastic for those of us that live rurally, I love that you do that, many don’t so you tend not to use their recipes.

Very happy for your news 👏🎉
    Love to Dozer 💗🐶

Totally agree Robyn! I’m on low FODMAP as well. It affects so many people. I make my own workarounds for Nagi’s fabulous recipes but it would be great if there were options already there

Amazing news & can’t wait. I use your recipes almost exclusively for all the meals I make. I love that the recipes are accessible & that regular supermarket items can be used ie curry pastes. I also like that you give alternative cooking methods & often I’ll use the slow cooker instead of the oven. Just easier for me when I know I’ve got a busy work day ahead. Can you please include the no knead bread recipe in the book…..an absolute rock star recipe……so easy but looks & tastes like hours were spent making it. Thanks Nagi…..also think that you’re a bit of a rockstar too!

Can you please include lots of meat free dishes, not just as sides but as main meals. Thanks for your inspiration.

Yay! I’m so excited for your cookbook! Can’t wait to have it in my kitchen. You are the best Nagi. We love all your recipes but your one pot dishes are great family friendly meals that we love. Pressure cooker recipes would also be great. We are trying to cut back on red meat so some vegetarian meals would be a great addition too. We will definitely need some Dozer pics in their too…

    Wow Nagi,
Congratulations on your cook book it’s going to be amazing no matter what recipes you have in it and as I probably cook at least 3 of your dishes a week it’s a hard choice, so currently I am making your beef vindaloo .. maybe a guide to a South Indian dinner party currys side dishes etc ..oh no what about your chicken stroganoff… maybe your lasagna dish and sides…..see it’s very difficult to choose all I know is you make me look like a fantastic cook and I love it ….give Dozer a Pat from me and anything in your book will be brilliant……good luck choosing….

    Hi Nagi,
This is awesome news – congrats! I love cooking, and have a mountain of cookbooks (as I’m sure you and most of your readers do), but your blog is the place I’ve sourced most of my ‘every day’ recipes from. If you’re aspiring for your cookbook to be the same insofar as it’s something folks use all the time, then there’s 3 big things that do that for me:
    1. Variety: I love that you’ve got a range of different cuisines and dishes on your blog. Personally I’ve got over 50 ‘go to’ recipes for preparing food for my family from various sources …. and I still get bored with them! Every time I plan a grocery shop, I find myself wandering back to your blog to see what new dishes you’ve put up that I could cook 🙂
    2. Make ahead: Weekdays are crazy so I tend to do meal prep and cook a big batch of 2-3 dishes every other weekend to then freeze in containers. Although fresh is always best, heaps of your dishes actually freeze pretty good – your Thai red curry, beef and mushroom pie, chicken tikka and butter chicken, mex lasagna, cashew chicken, satay chicken curry, lamb shanks (after stripping the meat off the bone).
    3. Or make quick/easy: If I’m not making ahead then it needs to be quick and/or easy – e.g. pop something in the slow cooker in the morning, or whip up a quick stir fry in 15 minutes.
Other things that make a cookbook everyday-practical to me are those I’m sure you already know: Prep time, cook time, servings, nutritional information (based on weight – why does nobody put the weight of the serving in!?), photos on the right-hand side with recipes on the left (easier to spot something yummy as you’re flicking through). It would be great to incorporate your videos somehow – maybe you could use QR codes or something?
Recipes I use every day are very different to those for entertaining. You know – the sort of cooking where you’ve got a day afternoon of cooking ahead of you, but it’s going to be awesome because you and your friends will love the end result. I’ve got a totally different set of recipes I go to for that sort of meal, but they’re also the ones I use less often because entertaining is more of a once-a-month kind of thing. They’re just as fun, but sadly are more prone to ‘dust collection’.
I’m sure you’re going to get heaps of advice and opinions as you embark on this project, so please disregard whatever doesn’t work for the style of cookbook you’re going for. Equally though, if you want to bounce some ideas off of someone, give me a shout! Most of all, have fun and good luck – I can’t wait to see the end result 🙂 🙂 🙂

Yes QR code’s to videos. Your videos are what has given my husband the confidence to cook.

I love the idea of having QR Codes that link to your videos, etc.
This is also great marketing for you as people would then have a look around to see what else you have that may not be in your book.
Given Covid, we are pretty much used to QR Codes now

Nagi what fabulous news! A friend just messaged me to tell me 😊 can’t wait to have my very own Nagi cookbook! but doubt I could ever get rid of my beloved and well used folder of your recipes! I suggest a whole section dedicated to meat balls, maybe sections for cuisine – banquet style.. My go toos are Indian and Thai also deep south USA- southern fried chicken, corn bread and those heavenly baked beans.. But you’ve got this Nagi and Dozer! You’re going to smash It out of the park!

Great Idea. I would love to see fresh dressing (salad) recipes. Also, cooking fresh vegetables to get the best flavor. But, I love your recipes so anything you do will be great!

I love how your recipes have normal pantry ingredients. So plenty of those type recipes included would make a very useful book. Our family specially loves Asian Chilli Chicken.

Nagi, what a wonderful idea, like the other comments, no more pieces of paper to go through although now I do go to your website.New and exciting vegetarian and gluten free recipes would be great. You are an amazing person with what you do for the less fortunate. Can’t forget that gorgeous furry Dozer, love seeing and hearing about him. Love and hugs. Coral
