SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.
Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

PS That’s just a mock cover!!
Finally – a cookbook!
This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.
Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.
Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….
I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!
Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.
So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂
If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.
I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.
So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).
They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!
Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!
– Nagi x
PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer
I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

Hi Nagi,
Could you please put your delicious One Pot Greek Chicken and Lemon Rice in your cookbook.
Thanks,
Hi Nagi,
What about including dog treats? Food for people and pets. A family inclusive cookbook :).
Katy
YES!!!! I have been waiting FOREVER for you to write a cookbook! (your recipes keep my computer filled up!) I started to list the ones I wanted to see in your cookbook, but there are just too many-so here’s the short list-ALL your bread recipes, ALL your Chinese recipes, ALL your desert recipes, ALL shrimp recipes, and ANYTHING with garlic and/or smothered in your rich gravies!!, Also, Dozer HAS to be on the cover-my pups love him as much as I do!!! THANK YOU for writing your cookbook, Nagi!!!
Hi Nagi! So excited, I only cook Nagi now so cant wait for your cookbook. An idea (as if penning a cookbook is not enough) is to include notes to make a recipe, gluten free and dairy free? Some recipes you already do this and I figure if you could make a cookbook that does that then even more people will buy it! Other than that a cookbook with all the favourites in there will make me one happy fan 🙂
Love your recipes, please never stop creating! xx
Nagi, I just thought of a second recipe I’d like to request please – Goat Roti.
I’ve attempted this several times from different online recipes, both stove top and slow cooker, but I can’t get it right. The meat never tenderizes the way lamb does and the spices and gravy just haven’t been anywhere near as good as take out. If you’re able to give us a goat roti recipe I know it will be awesome, like every single thing of yours I’ve made! Thank you. Sending love to you and Dozer!
You absolutely deserve this cookbook, Nagi! You’re my go-to girl when it comes to making meals. You inspire me and I have made several of your recipes. When you indicate that one of your recipes is the “best…”, it really is – the best! I am very excited for you and my only hope is that I will be able to find a copy of your book somehow, somewhere, here in Mexico! I wish you all the best Nagi and Dozer ❤️.
This is such a wonderful opportunity! Congratulations! You are one of my absolute favourite recipe writers for delicious and manageable (I don’t want to say simple because the flavours are often deep and complex but definitely achievable on a schedule and budget!) recipes. I have already asked for a copy of this as a birthday present when it comes out!
I love the recipes where you explain a technique that can be used in other situations. As others have noted, I also love the variety of your dishes and the notes on particular products you use and substitution or non-essential ingredients. If I I think of specific recipes I will add them! In general (not specific to your recipes), I think it’s useful to check every ingredient in the final draft is used/mentioned in the method – it can be confusing when this happens if you aren’t an expert and can’t guess where it should go!
Very much looking forward to seeing what you include in the book!
I should have added that the lockdown is the absolute best time to start a new project!
I couldn’t agree with you more!! N x
Nagi, you are one of our key ‘go-to’s for recipes already. Our preference is for one-pot meals, but we are capable of more complex ones, too. We will be trying your recent El Bulli cannellini beans recipe, for example.
What we love most about your work is that you keep on testing recipes until you get them right – it’s this tinkering that sets you apart from most of the rest. We do exactly the same in our work.
Thanks so much Kit, I truly appreciate it! N x
The cookbook sounds like a great endeavour, I’m looking forward to see some of your great recipes…there are soo many how do you choose? Please include your Greek lemon potatoes…they are Devine! As well as Chicken shawarma….soo delicious. Good luck I’m sure your book will be an ultimate success!!!
Congratulations! How exciting! I’d love some recipes that are good for weeknights–whether quick, make ahead, or good for freezing.
I love how your recipes always mention things you can swap out if necessary but also mention which ingredients are essential for it turning out properly. I’d love if that could continue in the book.
Please include your fabulous salads? Especially the Asian inspired ones. Your vietnamese chicken salad is heaven on a plate and i can get all the ingredients readily. More of that please!
I have enjoyed your emails for quite a while. I’m not a great cook but you inspire me. I would love to see a Dozer section for critter approved treats! Good luck and Have fun!!!
Now THAT is an idea! 🤔🤔🤔 N x
Really looking forward to this book! Perhaps do a separate book for dog recipes…. no offence meant at all but 99% of us are cooking for humans. 😀
Your cookbook must have pictures. Not necessarily step by step pictures, but at least a colored finished product with each recipe. I cannot stand cookbooks with text only. You eat with your eyes first, right?
That’s a given Mable! I couldn’t agree more!! N x
This is such exciting news, congratulations! I have tried dozens of your recipes, and each one has been perfect first time. You are literally my go-to website for new (and old favourite) recipes – I love how you cover all types of cuisines. I am also a big fan of your detailed recipe notes with suggested substitutions – hope you incorporate this concept into the cookbook. Would love to see meal pairings (or complete menu suggestions like your Arabian feast) as well – those are a godsend when I am entertaining and have a complete mind blank. Good luck – so excited to see this book!
Great idea Mahreen, thanks so much!! N x
I never respond in the comments section (with the exception of your knife give-aways!) more out of laziness than anything lol. You are by far my favorite go to recipe spot! One of my favorites of y0urs is that “Firecracker Chicken” from a magazine article. Sorry I can’t remember the name of the magazine but it is a phenomenal recipe! Thanks for everything you do Nagi (& Dozer) and I can not wait to buy the cookbook for myself and gifts!!
Thanks so much Melanie – it was for Good Food you can see the link here too 🙂 https://www.goodfood.com.au/recipes/news/recipetin-eats-x-good-food-firecracker-sauce-20190828-h1hicd N x
Hi Nagi. Since I love what you do I’m very excited for your new book. Can you include some vegetarian recipes and just some good basics that everyone needs with your spin on them? The dietary tips eg. salt content would be helpful too. I look forward to your creativity!
Great idea Susan, thanks so much! N x
The news of your upcoming cookbook has made my day! Been a fan of ALL (yes!) your recipes for years. A section with quick & easy recipes with a huge flavour payoff (like the Chinese noodle soup!) would be lovely. Living in Canada your recipes have that Asian influence I dearly miss from Australian cooking. Hoping for a quick note/measuring guide/international conversion table to make sure they are executed accurately. So excited for this cookbook!!!
Yes we love big bold flavours Valerie, we wouldn’t have it any other way! N x
Well done on your next chapter, dearest Nagi. I sure love your recipes, everything so far has been easy, and oh so tasty. The one that stands out for me, as it was not too long, Is the Spaghetti Ala Puttanesca, and the Panzanella, tomato and bread salad, wow, those were amazingly good 🙂
YUM! Nice idea Sagree! N x
Bravo! Love your recipes but also how you make it fun and easy. Maybe different chicken recipes. Healthy snack and lunch box stuff. keep you good humor that is food for the soul.
