SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.
Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

PS That’s just a mock cover!!
Finally – a cookbook!
This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.
Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.
Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….
I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!
Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.
So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂
If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.
I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.
So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).
They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!
Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!
– Nagi x
PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer
I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

Please put in the meat pie recipe. Best pie I have ever eaten!
I love your recipes but I am trying to reduce the amount of meat I eat as I age and move towards a plant-based diet. Digestion is not as strong as it was during my younger years. Thanks
French onion pork chops and blueberry lemon layer cake
Hi Nagi!!
So happy to hear that you are publishing a cookbook!! I’m in!!! Please offer a pre-sale for orders when the time comes. I’ve made so many of your recipes and they have all come out great!!!
You are my go-to for recipes. I love your step-by-step pics and directions, tips and substitutions. I’ve learned so much from your website.
Please include a chapter about Dozer or at least include pics of him throughout your book. I absolutely loved watching him grow-up from puppy to adulthood.
Also would like to see maybe more recipes where I can use my Instant Pot. And any common, popular street foods that you don’t really see in restaurants such as Japanese Okonomyaki. Does Australia have popular street foods that people buy all the time that’s tasty? Like there’s hot dog stands everywhere in the cities of Philly and New York?
Thanks so much for all of your expertise and the time and commitment that you put into your website and now finally a cookbook!!
Asian Take-Away and Dim Sum section, please! 🙂
yes
YUM!!! N x
I would like more recipes for two people. Mostly dinner,
Hi Irene, most of my recipes are scalable – click the servings and use the slider to scale back to 2 servings. All the ingredients will adjust for you too. N x
Nagi, you are the little chef under my hat! When Gabriel Gaté provided the recipes for “Anyone can Cook” he meant it and you Nagi have certainly shown me how to expand my culinary skills higher than I knew I could! I (ys little ol’ me) can make Hollandaise Sauce! What the Heck!… I believe what I am trying to say is, Thank you.
I would love to see
– quick easy healthy lunch ideas.
– low/no sugar sweets (no sugar substitutes like xylitol/sweeteners)
– relish (I would seriously love to see relish!)
– European cuisine (German/Hungarian/Czhec/Estonian)
Thank you again for being my new found lockdown inspiration to get creative in the kitchen.
LOVE your recipes! Cant wait to buy your cookbook.
We would love to see:
Orecchiette sausage pasta
Slow cooker beef brisket
Chilli Con Carne
Chicken Parma
<3 <3 <3
Love your recipes. Would like to see a vegetarian section for Meatless Mondays,
I just made your seafood marina from a website and it was so simple and delicious I had to find you! I suggest like most others, quick easy lunches and dinners with a meal plan if you can that would be amazing.
Thank you!
Hi Nagi, Love all your recipes. You are my ‘go to’ when I need inspiration. Would be great if you could make a note how to tweak a recipe to make it keto. My husband said there is no more room for him and another recipe book.
I’m really going to miss him!!
Can’t wait! Let us know if it’s possible to pre-order. Love your recipes Nagi! You haven’t led me wrong! Love all the notes you provide and your recommendations on subs and different cooking methods. You are my go to everyday of the week. Thank you!
Please include the butter chicken recipe from your website! I’d love to have that as easily accessible as possible 😊 It’s amazing ❤
We will definitely be getting a cookbook! Your name is a staple around our house and we make a “Nagi” meal at least once a week. My two cents is please include some salad recipes for all seasons. We love that lemon chicken salad you have on tineats.
Congrats on the sign up! Having cooked a few of your receipes now, i already believe this project will be a hit.
I noticed a few people have already mentioned weeknight, quick and easy recipes and meal planning. Perhaps in categorising the receipes you incorporate a system where you give each one a rating of difficulty to determine if its doable on a busy day/night or if it’s a weekend project.
One receipe I would love to see is khao soi – not quite laksa, not quite curry, but everything delicious from the two combined.
がんばって!
Wow! Nagi, I’m so thrilled for you. Congratulations. We love the breadth and scope of your website. You’ve given us tastier traditional Australian/British fare and introduced us to so many amazing international dishes. All your tips and tricks, particularly the substitutions, nutrition and storage information have been so useful. I’d love for you to continue that in your book. We’d love to see your chicken sharwarma included, and for new ideas, how about something with kangaroo as we can get that in the supermarkets now and I have no idea what to do with it. Keep doing what you’re doing Nagi and thank you for making us better cooks.
Hi Nagi,
So excited for the book
My suggestions:
– salt and pepper crab/lobster
– pippies in xo sauce
– pad see ew
– quick weekday meals that don’t require a heap of ingredients that you may/may not use again
Some low FODMAP adaptations of existing recipes would be awesome! Specifically for me… no onion and no garlic. 🙂
More vegetarian recipes please! Excited to get the book Nagi thank you!
Many thanks for a lot of great recipes and your personal take on food. Not to mention Dozer.
Suggest for the book
– Asia themed. Not so common in the usual cookbook.
– week night friendly, with above comment
Best of all – please include in each recipe weights, and volume in metric and Imperial.
Also, instead of ‘medium onion’ try to say ‘medium onion – 3 oz/ 75 gm / 1 loose cup’.
Finally, some recipes require exact measures, and most do not. Please indicate if the measures are absolute or flexible.
Again, thanks for you blog. Hope you enjoy great success.
