SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.

Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

RecipeTin Eats Cookbook Announcement

PS That’s just a mock cover!!

Finally – a cookbook!

This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.

Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.

Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….

I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!

Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

RecipeTin Eats Cookbook Announcement

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.

So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂

If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.

I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.

So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).

They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!

Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!

– Nagi x

PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer

I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Dozer sniffing RecipeTin Eats cookbook mock up

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

    Hi Nagi

The ’trouble’ is that ALL your recipes work so well, it’s hard to pick.

I think the recipes most useful to first time cooks are for example:

    pizza dough – so easy
lamb shanks in wine sauce – delectable
    baklava – perfect
Show stopper Christmas Salmon – divine
Christmas popcorn – a bit fiddly but definitely worth it – none left
    Spaghetti Bolognese – the best

They are so easy to make, even for new cooks.

Good luck with the book, I can’t wait to see it. I’m sure it will become the bible of cookbooks.

    Cheers Alex Warner

    Dear Nagi,
I have little to contribute to your book. But need to express how much I love you! Your website and in depth instructions for cooking is the best I have seen! I feel like I could be a real chef following your guidance. Love you!

Hi Nagi ~ what wonderful news! I’m looking forward to your masterpiece. I’d love to see plant based recipes & a lumpia recipe. Maybe a holiday section? I hope your cookbook will contain your very helpful steps & beautiful photography of every recipe.

I love all your recipes and try many of them. Maybe a section that indicates the amount of ingredients for 2 people?

I think you are fabulous. Please include a few gluten free recipes or how to alter the regular recipes. Thanks. I alter them myself sometimes but do not have the wealth of knowledge that you do. Cannot wait for the cookbook!

Sorry for capitals, I just want you to know how excited I am!

Recipes suggestions for book…here we go!
    In order of preference

    Definitely

    * Apple Crumble…that is a sensational recipe, so easy!
Double or even triple the crumble mix to freeze for other times!
Do that and you really have got a stress free, reliable, totally DELICIOUS dessert
Tip, Make sure you get the crumble back to room temp after freezer.
It’s easier to actually crumble it over the top

*Strawberry Cheesecake with adaptation for Blueberry!

    * Chicken Piccata (new version)

    *Lentil Soup/curry

    *Red Velvet Cupcakes
(with adaptation for a big cake eg baking times)

    *Caramel Tart

    *Cauliflower Cheese

    *Mac n Cheese

    *Sweet Tart Pastry (French Pastry)
    *Chocolate Tart
    *Pear and Pistachio Tart

    *Panzanella salad

**Include tips ( you will anyway – you cant help yourself!)

Include a few pairing Menu ideas
    Eg. Entree, Main, Dessert’s
    e.g this goes with that

All for now, give that Dozer boy a pat on top of his head from me!

Good luck and, take care of you.

I love cook books with pictures….but also with anecdotes about the recipe….what it means to you Nagi……history……found in great grandmas handwritten book etc. The stories behind the food take it to the next level of “book”.

    Hi Nagi
Before I had Grandchildren I had a Grand Dog. Every birthday and Christmas I made him dog biscuits in a bone shape. My suggestion for your new book is a final chapter dedicated to Dozer and all the other loved dogs out there.

The best cookbooks (in my opinion) have pictures for every dish. It’s what makes a cookbook fun to read. It inspires you to cook a particular dish that maybe you wouldn’t normally choose. I never buy a cookbook that doesn’t have pictures.

That’s incredible news, congratulations to you (and Dozer too!). I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of it.
I’d like to see a photo beside every recipe, I never use or buy cookbooks without photos.
All your recipes are fantastic, so I’d love for it to be kept to your quality, decent dinner/baking recipes, still affordable and pretty much as per your Insta. Perhaps some savoury baking recipes, some vegetarian dishes and would definitely love more Mexican and Asian recipes 🥰

A kid friendly section would be amazing. Or even notes on how to tone down/adjust the spice in some of your recipes.

One of my fave cookbooks is Nigella’s “Feast.” It’s broken into sections based on events like birthdays, dinner parties, quick dinner, Christmas, summer lunch etc.

It’s one of my go to books because I tend to look for inspo based on my event. Quick dinner, lunches that store well, luxurious weekend breakkie, weekend away, picnics, Christmas, kids birthdays… the list is endless!

I’d love to see it organised like that, rather than traditional salads, pastas, seafood, chicken, meat, dessert organisation.
