SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.

Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

RecipeTin Eats Cookbook Announcement

PS That’s just a mock cover!!

Finally – a cookbook!

This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.

Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.

Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….

I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!

Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

RecipeTin Eats Cookbook Announcement

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.

So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂

If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.

I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.

So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).

They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!

Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!

– Nagi x

PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer

I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Dozer sniffing RecipeTin Eats cookbook mock up

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

Nagi, you are the real deal!

You have to include your chilli con carne recipe in the book. It is the best we have ever had and I would never use any other recipe now. I do a big pot every week in the pressure cooker.

It would be great if (where possible) you provided details of substitutes for some the ‘extra’ ingredients – especially pig meat based ones.

I forgot what I wrote in my first request for your cookbook, but please include some good dairy-free but creamy options like this (one of my few favorite non-Nagi recipes!): https://allergyawesomeness.com/30-minute-dairy-free-creamy-tuscan-chicken-gf-df-egg-soy-peanut-tree-nut-free-top-8-free/

Hi Nagi, I am super excited you are finally publishing your very own hard-cover cookbook. I have been saying all year, I wish you had one and now it is finally happening for you. I just love your Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff Stew (well anything slow-cooked is amazing and always looking for more ideas). Your chicken pot pie (family winner) and your Char Kway Teow is just like what you would have in Singapore. I am yet to make any of your sweet recipes but have saved many to try once I can host guests in ones home! Something new – have you ever thought of adding cocktails, jams, relishes (condiments) or more duck recipes add to your list of amazing talents? All my friends love your work too. You have been getting us through all these lockdowns in Melbourne with our Nagi cook-offs each weekend! Keep up the amazing work and I cant wait to purchase your cookbooks. Cheers Mel from Melbourne.

Best of luck to you. Speaking from the biz side of writing a book, you’ve got an enormous email list—take advantage of it. I’d start with your fans “must haves” and build each chapter from there. Definitely start with noodles; it doesn’t have to be chapter 1. Structure is important, but don’t let it overwhelm your creativity. Cheers!

Thank you for the wonderful advice Nikki!! I got to that point as well re: structure v creativity. As the ideas started to flow, the structure started to come together. It’s just impossible for me to come up with a list of recipes right now. Ideas just come to me at the most random times!! N xx

I would love your recipes being classified into quick meal, holiday meal, etc as to a guide on complexity to prepare. I use a lot of your recipe for my weekdays meals and they are fabulous. Cant wait to buy your cookbook

Hi Phuong! that’s exactly what I’m doing 🙂 Even if the chapters are not as clear as 10, 20, 30 minutes etc, every recipe will have a time stamp AND/OR there will be an index by time – prep and cook. Some recipes will take 5 minutes to prep but 3 hours to cook, like the Massaman Lamb Shanks. Others take 30 minutes to prep by 10 minutes to cook! N x

Can you just literally put EVERY recipe you have now online in to a cook book 🙂
    I’m obsessed!
I have been picking one of your recipes each week to make (I’ve previously not been a big cook) and they all come out tasting delicious! It makes me look forward to cooking each week now! And to have all these existing recipes in a book would not only be great (for me! Haha) it means I can buy it and gift it to my friends as well!
All the new recipes can be for cook book number two 🙂

…As many recipes as you can from your website as its awesome! Just put it into categories using some logic!
Your serving sizes are pretty good and easily modified (even though you assist with such online, I generally use you base serving size and modify from there myself.)

I will definitely buy it and can’t wait until you release it!

Hi Nagi, I am so pleased to hear that you are coming out with a cookbook. I love all your recipes but would like to learn more about hosting dinners, would like to have more recipes that are “restaurant style” or 3 course meal that are easy to follow and recreate at home . Wishing you luck

Nagi…. your recipes have taken me from someone who couldn’t boil an egg, to someone who can confidently host a dinner party with multiple dishes without wanting to cry or order take out. All within the last 12 months no less.
I love your recipes. Not one has failed me, and before I found your site, I was close to useless in the kitchen. So I wanted to say thank you. And that no matter what recipes you put in your book, I will be first in line to buy it ❤️
