SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.
Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

PS That’s just a mock cover!!
Finally – a cookbook!
This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.
Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.
Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….
I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!
Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.
So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂
If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.
I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.
So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).
They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!
Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!
– Nagi x
PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer
I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

Nagi
I just want to say that it is so helpful and sustaining to us novice cooks when you share a recipe failure!!! So looking forward to your cookbook!
Nagi you are my go to for most of our meals because they are amazing recipes. I love your hints and tips and substitutes, so helpful. I am so looking forward to your cookbook.
At the moment I am looking for a chilli jam recipe, I would like to make up some jars to give as christmas gifts.
Hoping you can perfect and post a recipe soon xx
Nagi: Your “failure” looked delicious. I wonder what it was?
FYI: I love cookbooks that include pictures of the recipes. I am hoping yours will, too. Have fun creating your cookbook!
In the new cookbook could we have a section on making your own Chinese sauces so my dishes can be as good as my local Chinese takeaway. Thanks for your great work.
Hi Nagi,
My favourite cookbooks have a very good index. My most used cookbook is Stephanie Alexander’s A Cooks Companion. The index and cross referencing is amazing. Now it is more of a reference cookbook, but Margaret Fulton, Alison Roman, they all have a very good index. I hate not being able to find that zucchini salad because it’s listed under walnut or cottage pie because it’s listed only under potato and not under beef or under C for cottage. I made those examples up, but you get the idea.
Good luck with this project. I think taking a few weeks off from blogging to move the cookbook forward is a sensible idea.
I LOVE STEPHANIE ALEXANDER!! She is my favourite Australian cook 🙂 Don’t worry, I have many thoughts about the index as I think just like you when I’m trying to find a recipe!! N xx
I will miss the weekly recipes as I usually enjoy cooking and eating them of course! Really look forward to seeing your cookbook on the shelves
Good luck with it all !!!
Just tell me when I can order!!! 😊
Hello, love your recipes, love that they turn out how they should!!!
Cookbook should have a Salad Section, Entertaining Section, Asian Food Section (great for us who have a lot to learn). The other recommendation from me is a photo, even if it’s small of each recipe, otherwise you often skip them!!
Nagi I dont believe you ever fail in the kitchen and please dont say you fail having a break whilst working hard getting on with your book. Remember you are only human. Give Dozer a big hug for me. cheers Lynne x
I love the chicken lemon asparagus oven dinner. Love so many of your videos, Dozier, and lots of recipes.
Some more slow cooker recipes! I’m always looking for recipes I can put on in the morning and come home to in the evening. (As much as I love cooking your fabulous recipes when I have time, I don’t always have it!). And also some more vegetarian meals, as others have said – a slow cooker veg meal would be the best of both worlds 🙂 Very excited to get my hands on the book when it’s published!
Nagi, I can not wait for the cookbook to come out. I look forward to your emails and seeing what I can make from them. I love that Dozer is such a big part of your life and work as well. Keep up the great work you two
Exciting look forward to your cook book Nagi you deserve to reap the rewards of all your hard work and for sharing your amazing recipes! thanks to for sharing fun photos of Dozer and yourself. Wondering when you have time if you can share recipe for Sourdough Bread🦋 🐕
Nagi, as an author of 2 novels, 2 screen plays, 3 children’s books, a cooking show on my local cable channel and working full-time, I get how you’d have to cut something out to create your cookbook, and I have to say I’ll miss your posts… a cookbook is on my bucket list when I retire, so I’ll use yours as my muse… Keep up the great work!!! 🙂
I love receiving your emails Nagi and when I sit down at the computer the first thing I look at is your email with another great recipe. I like that you provide so much information on alternative ingredients etc. and would welcome more spicy recipes. The very best of luck with your book. I’m sure it will be a great success for you.
Look after yourself Nagi n Dozer. Love your recipes and looking forward to the Cook Book. All the best
Thank you! N x
This is soooooo exciting! I can’t wait to see the final outcome. And I must say, I LOVE getting your emails, and Dozer is a hoot. Keep doing what you do!
Dozer is a hoot! Thanks!! N x
I would like easy to follow recipes with ingredients that are easy to find but taste delicious.
