SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.
Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

PS That’s just a mock cover!!
Finally – a cookbook!
This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.
Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.
Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….
I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!
Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.
So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂
If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.
I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.
So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).
They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!
Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!
– Nagi x
PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer
I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

Really helpful would be WHAT you cook each recipe in. Material or size. Really really helpful for a newbie learning to cook! PS ; LOVE your recipes and all the hints you provide! Looking forward to buying your book!
Thanks Mel! Will add that to the potential ideas list! N x
Hi Nagi,
Let’s get this out the way, what a fantastic idea, I’m excited and my friends are excited.
My request and ideas as a vegetarian are to use icons in the glossary/index to clearly mark vegetarian/vegan recipes. Also use of a 3rd icon to indicate recipes that lead to an asterix where you show recipes that can be made vege and show you how e.g.. replace chicken with tofu or replace x with y.
Thanks Nagi
We definitely have icons to mark veg recipes!! Love the suggestion for how to make dishes vegetarian. Will be sure to include ideas where it works! N x
Thank you Nagi for making us all a part of your book. I Also have a request for more Dozer 🐶 Maybe he has some favorite recipes or a very special Dozer treats recipe page.
When is cookbook going to be ready to order
Next year! N x

Hi Nagi, as someone who loves (and whose family now also loves) your recipes, this is such exciting news!! I especially love all the Asian dishes and the way you explain things and add your own tips. Some things I would love to see in your recipe book:
– Vegetarian dishes that even meat-eaters enjoy
– Protein substitutions to make meat dishes vegetarian-friendly
– Photos of each dish/of any stages of the cooking process that are difficult to judge what it’s meant to look like
– Your little tips/notes for how to make things taste like they’re from a restaurant
– Substitution ideas for less common ingredients
– Measurements in grams
– Storage tips/how to appropriately rehat
– A range of foods from around the world,
– Lots of Dozer (of course!)
Everyone wants DOZER!! N x
Hi Nagi, I am so very excited for you, I can’t wait to buy your book when it’s published! Whenever I want to cook something different I always check your website first 🙂 I have loved everything you have on your site, we’re big Asian foodies so love everything you do there. We also like to eat low carb and low calorie so some more options there would be great! Otherwise best wishes, I’m sure your book will be amazing!
Before anything else, I hope it can be deliverable to my current place of residence, Singapore. 🤣
1. I’ll eat anything that doesn’t eat me first.2. Husband type2 diabetic, we watch our carbs including sugar. (and I LOVE to bake,:( ) I fix a lot of your meat recipes and cook lots of different vegetable combos. I do NOT like brussel sprouts, anything else I’ll at least try. I really love all of your tips, i.e. stuffing chicken instead of trying to roll it, etc. You are the first online cook I have found that makes smart combos and actually knows how to cook. You write great easy to follow recipes as well. Thank you Thank you!
Please add a section in your book off all the restaurant tips you have up your sleeve such as tenderise meat and whole chicken brine ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Nagi,
My best friend in Tassie put me on to your website and WoW! I have fallen in love with baking again. So far, your best ever vanilla cake, blueberry muffins and chocolate cupcakes are now on repeat in my family! Thank you. Thinking about something for your new book – things like a wonderful Trifle and a good old fashioned Peche Melba. Maybe not Escoffier’s version 😆 (noticed your coffee table book) but a nice Christmassy one. Have fun writing your book we all look forward to it. Jayne
Congratulations on your new cookbook! When I first came across your blog a few years ago and tried a few recipes, I looked to see if you had a cookbook. So excited to see that it’s just around the corner.
I have over 500 cookbooks so below is what I would like to see in your cookbook:
The Recipe
– A color picture for each recipe
– Please keep your notes, tips & substitute suggestions
– Provide nutritional details
– When using salt, take the time to specify how much salt & the type of salt. I don’t care for recipes that tell me to add salt & pepper to taste. If you provide the exact measurements you’re using for the recipe, the home cook will at least have a benchmark to start with. From there, they can always adjust taste. This will also be helpful for new cooks as they learn.
– When using butter, specify whether it is salted or unsalted
– Instead of saying “one medium onion”, also provide size or weight (4oz, 1 cup, etc)
– List your preferred brand for any key ingredients
– List recipe instructions step by step instead of one paragraph
– Provide a QR code for recipes &/or videos already on your site
– Provide suggestions on what other dishes are good to pair the recipe with to make a complete meal
– Suggestions for protein substitutes to convert a recipe to a vegetarian meal if it’s appropriate
– Provide tips for how to store recipes
– If a recipe can be frozen, provide instructions on how to freeze and then how to reheat it
– Note if a recipe can be easily doubled to make one for now and one to freeze for later
Other Features of the Book
– Easy to follow table of contents
– Logical approach to how the sections in the book are organized; meal time (e.g. breakfast, lunch, etc.), meal type (e.g. salads, snacks, appetizers, etc.)
– a good index by ingredient and recipe
– Key staples in your pantry along with brand recommendations
– Key equipment along with brand recommendations
– Section for basic recipes that every home cook should know
– a book that opens up to lie flat
Content Suggestions
– Take Out food
– Indian
– Quick meals
– More healthy meal options (e.g. low carb, more vegetarian, etc)
– Salads for year round enjoyment
– Recipes for instant pots or one pot/pan cooking
– Section on the most popular recipes from your site
– Section dedicated to your sous chef, Dozer
Hi Dawn! Wow!! Thank you for taking time to jot all that down…I might need a separate website for the book 😂! But seriously those are some great ideas…thanks for the feedback! N x
You’re welcome! Congratulations and wishing you all the best on this journey! If you need a recipe tester, I’m available. ;o)
General Tso’s chicken is a family favourite for us! Please add lots of delicious photos in the book – it really helps us to decide which recipe we want to try each week! Thank you for all your recipes so far – very excited for your book 🙂
Thank you for the feedback Jessica! N x
Dearest Nagi,
May I please request:
Coffee & walnut cake
(with lashings of icing)
☕😊🐕
Hi Nagi, it is your wonderfully detailed but clear explanations of methods and ingredients, and the way you deconstruct and decipher classic dishes for the home cook, that I most love about your website, Your recipes always work because you explain them so well!
Among my favourite recipes are your Beef Stroganoff, Italian Meatballs, Rogan Josh, Cheesy Zucchini Bread, Kung Pao Chicken, Sausage Rolls,, and various roast lamb recipes, to name but a few. Whatever you include, I hope the book will reflect your unique style of explanation and presentation!
Thanks Phil for those very kind words! N x
Before anything else, I hope it can be deliverable to my current place of residence, Singapore. 🤣
Sausage Rolls!!!!
One of my specialties!!! N x
Hi Nagi. I cooked the easy chicken curry again last night and it waa great as usual. I went looking for a pork curry in your recipes this morning but couldnt find one. Pork cooks up beautifully in curry – have I missed it or is that something for you to think about?
Thanks for that feedback Colin…I will add that to the inspiration list! N x
I love the japanese recipes. Soups, salads. Just the good food you always make. Healthy and easy is good , thank you
All your recipes that I have tried are absolutely splendid. You are the Tolkien of Cuisine, so I am looking forward to quite the tome of a cookbook….The Lord of the Kitchen! I have learned so much from you, and have had many bold, new culinary adventures with your guidance.
Thank you so much for being so generous, kind and selfless in sharing all your hard work. Such qualities are a rarity these days. Thank you…
